HOW refreshing to read Liam Byrne’s letter in this week’s Guardian.

Here is a man who is concerned with the needs and aspirations of the community at large, not the interests of CWAC in their ivory tower.

Adding yet another supermarket at Barons Quay will probably make it the only town of its size in the UK to have such an imbalance of supermarkets as opposed to other retail businesses who can ill afford the extortionate business rates demanded.

What in the name of heaven will that achieve?
