IT is interesting to read that Cllr Burns appears certain that the location of the gipsy and traveller transit site will not be Winsford.
The residents of Whitegate and Marton however cannot get the same reassurances from him that the site won’t be located at Marton Villa farm after he admitted that the four separate sites on the farm were ‘more likely’ to be chosen to be used.
What confidence can the residents of CWaC and in particular those of Whitegate and Marton have in an open and fair decision making process when Labour members of the Local Plan Working Group report the outcome of the process even before the proposal is reviewed and before any consultation has taken place?
As a member of the LPWG, Cllr Burns (who chairs the audit and governance committee and is a member of the overview and scrutiny committee) should know better than make less than impartial comments throughout this process.
Once again it shows us all that that to this Labour administration, ‘let’s talk’ means ‘we have already decided’.
Cllr Mike Baynham Winsford Over and Verdin Ward
