I RECEIVED the news reported in last week’s Guardian, p31, that Gladman Developments are considering building another 270 homes off Warmingham Lane with dismay.

As your reporter mentions, this would mean there would be more than 600 new houses in this area.

There are numerous objections to this proposal and because we do not have a Local Plan or a 5-year housing supply, it will probably gain approval by the appeals process, assuming Cheshire East rejects it.

The road system even with the intended link road is not capable of dealing with this increase in traffic.

Also, the local schools, doctors’ surgeries and other amenities will have great challenges.

These properties are so far out of town that we might not even benefit from significantly increased footfall in our local shops because many will feel more aligned with Sandbach or further afield.
