MIDDLEWICH manager Dave Parr has warned his players to worry only about their next opponents after the Witches extended their unbeaten run to six matches.

Town’s 2-1 win at Gamesley on Saturday places them third in the Division One table.

He said: “I’m interested only in who we play next.

“It’s been a good start, but there’s a long way to go yet.”

Sam O’Sullivan was on target again to put the visitors ahead at the weekend, a mistake by the home team’s goalkeeper off a corner resulting in an own goal.

Michael Dewhurst halved the hosts’ arrears from close range, but they could not restore parity.

Parr said: “It was an important three points for us because Gamesley is a difficult place to win at.

“The squad is working hard to improve in every game and I’m pleased with the quality of football the players are producing.”

Styal, who have lost five of their eight matches to date, visit Seddon Street on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
