MIDDLEWICH finally got the better of their new nemesis.
Town, who lost to Curzon Ashton Reserves in the JB Parker Cup final earlier this month, had been held by their rivals at Seddon Street at Easter.
And, after going a goal down, it looked like another costly result was on the way.
Gary Bryning levelled from the penalty spot before Stuart Tulloch put his side in front.
He added a second after the interval, preceded by one for Dean Clarke, as the Witches ran out 4-1 winners.
They move up to fourth in the table as a result, 11 points behind leaders Pilkington with five games in hand.
Terry Murphy's men have put in impressive sequenct together since the turn of the year, losing only once in ten matches to keep their title dream alive.
