Middlewich Town 5-0 Egerton
CHRIS Lunn’s spectacular volley set Middlewich Town on course to a comfortable victory against visiting Egerton in Cheshire League One.
His goal’s creator, Michael Whitehead, then doubled the hosts’ tally.
The pattern did not deviate in the second period, and skipper Sam O’Sullivan converted from the penalty spot after substitute George Hopkins had been fouled.
Ed Marsh then completed the rout with a brace of goals in the final quarter of an hour.
“We challenged the lads to put right last week’s disappointing result,” added Speight, referring to a 2-2 draw with Daten’s reserves in a President’s Cup group-stage game.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with their reaction, and they thoroughly deserved the three points.”
