CHESHIRE Stars T, depleted by absences, succumbed to Witton Albion when they met in the South Cheshire Premier League’s top-flight.
Kebriah Pardoe and defender Em Coop shared the player of the match prize after a 32-24 defeat during which both teams enjoyed spells of control.
Stars S continued an encouraging start to their Championship Division campaign when they beat Scorpions.
Wing-attack Alison Barrett-Cliffe and Sue Bethel, a wing defender, were their stand-out performers on court during a 29-22 victory.
The Middlewich-based club are represented too in the second tier by Stars A, who registered a first win since they were promoted by beating Indigo.
A collective effort in defence and attack, with added gloss from accurate shooting, secured a 32-23 success.
Captain Catherine Barton, who plays at goal-attack, was the pick of their players.
Stars R, also playing at a higher level this term, narrowly lost out – by 34-27 – when they met Excel Clad in a Division One fixture.
New recruit Liberty Hughes, at centre, was chosen as their star turn while goalkeeper Alison Parry made her first appearance since recovering from injury.
