CHESHIRE Stars T could not prevent defending champions Oaklands from continuing a winning start to a new season in the South Cheshire Premier League’s top-flight.
Centre Elle Jones was picked as their player of the match in a 52-20 loss.
In the Championship Division, a new-look Stars S side went down 28-15 against promotion-hopefuls Barclays.
However they were not too downhearted after an encouraging performance.
Stars A remain in pursuit of the leaders in Division One after staying calm during a physical encounter with Bentley.
Jones continued an impressive week’s work by again earning a nomination for best player, this time in a 36-25 victory over Bentley that keeps the Middlewich-based team third in the table.
Stars R recovered from a shaky start to beat Witton Albion’s seconds in Division Two – their fourth successive win.
Karen Dickson, at centre, was their stand-out performer in a 30-22 victory.
