MICHAEL Evans continued where he left off last term, keeping calm to convert a late penalty and earn the Witches a share of the spoils.

He scored from the spot with a quarter of an hour left after new recruit Callum Priestley had been fouled, rescuing a point from a contest the hosts twice led.

They took the lead on 16 minutes, Priestley flicking on goalkeeper Charles Masters’ long kick for Evans to guide a lob over the visitors’ custodian.

Town, who had seen an early penalty from Joe O’Sullivan saved, dominated afterwards.

Priestley’s effort from a corner was smuggled off the line, then he fluffed a chance conjured by Evans.

James Dean’s attempt struck a post before two goals followed inside 60 seconds.

First, Leon Goulden fired in an equaliser for Daten when a cross was deflected into his path.

However Dean made it 2-1 from an acute angle after receiving Joe O’Sullivan’s assist.

The away team drew level when Sam O’Sullivan diverted the ball past Masters by mistake, and worse followed when Goulden latched onto a punt forward to put his side ahead for the first time.

Evans had a goal ruled out for offside, but his luck was in later when that spot kick eluded Daten’s goalkeeper.
