MIDDLEWICH Town can improve their prospects of qualifying for the last-eight of the Cheshire League’s JA Walton Challenge Cup if they beat neighbours Cuddington this Saturday.

The Witches, victors in their past four matches in all competitions, occupy third place in Group Four.

This weekend’s opponents are only a point further back in fourth, but they have played two more games.

Witton Albion reserves’ hopes of progressing from Group Two are all but over.

However, Paul Jones’ men will attempt to win a first fixture in this season’s competition when they visit second-placed Malpas on Saturday.
