ABBEY College Manchester student Dominic Martin is celebrating after achieving an A grade in religious studies at A-level.

The Northwich student will now go on to study ancient history and theology and religious studies at Leeds University.

Dominic, 20, previously achieved B grades in history and English literature at A-level at The Grange School in Hartford.

Dominic, from Whatcroft Hall Lane, said: “It was such a great morning being with my friends and finding out I got the grade I needed.

“It is such a weight off my shoulders to know I am heading in the right direction. Abbey College Manchester has been instrumental in helping me achieve my goals and I am so grateful.

“We will all be spread around the country going to different universities to develop our knowledge and I wish everyone well.”

College principal Liz Elam said: “Dominic is a very intelligent young man who is destined to do great things. His fantastic results were no surprised and we wish him all the best in the future.

“Every year we take pride in ensuring the students attain their goals whether that is further education or other career paths. The student’s success this year is incredible and they have again made Abbey College Manchester proud.”

The college recorded 84 per cent of students achieving grades A* to C, with 33 per cent achieving A* or A grade and an overall pass rate of 99 per cent.
