THE October meeting celebrated the third birthday.

There were 40 guests for the evening and a party supper of cheesecakes made by the members.

The club was complimented on its welcome and several guests have requested an invitation to next year’s party.

Speaker for the evening was Dee Chadwick, a lady who works as a counsellor but also finds time to work as a hypnotherapist for women who are expecting babies.

She teaches them coping skills for going through labour and gets birth partners involved also.

November was the AGM and president Susan leicester was re-elected once more.

After tea and cakes members ended the evening with games and quizzes. This should help to get the brain working for the first round of the WI Quiz which is in Byley on February 16.

Members were also reminded that the December meeting is the Christmas party and all are invited to wear favourite “decorative” jumpers on the evening.

It was also decided to hold the WI Show in February called “Food & Fripperies” and all members are invited to display an item of their own cakes, jams or craft skills.
