FORTY-TWO people joined the coach for a day out to Beaumaris on Anglesey on March 29.

The B party, led by Grahame Reid, alighted first after crossing the Britannia Bridge.

They walked through Menai Bridge and then inland to reach Llanfaes before using the coast path back to Beaumaris after 12 miles with 800ft of climbing.

The other walks started in Beaumaris.

The D group, led by Rosie McKenzie, headed via Pen-y-Parc to Bulkeley Memorial and then on to Llanfaes and back along the coast.

They walked seven miles with 500ft of ascent.

Judy Cross took the C group north along the coast to Penmon Priory then on to Llangoed and back across the golf course after nine miles of walking.

John Kummer took the A party up to Bwrrd Arthur then down to Penmon lighthouse and along the coastal path back to Beaumaris after nearly 14 miles.

The weather was very wet on arrival.

But it quickly improved to give a good walking day with some fine views towards Snowdonia.

The next trip will be to Arnside in Cumbria on Sunday, April 12. For more details please phone Barbara Ward 01565 651765.
