Antrobus WI

President, Margaret McDonald welcomed members and visitors to the October meeting of Antrobus WI. She announced that next year one lucky member would be able to attend the Annual General Meeting as Antrobus delegate, at the Albert Hall. Those interested are to put their names in a hat, the draw to take place probably at the Christmas party.

Antrobus Two Bowling team, having won the Bowling League, were presented with the Shield. Antrobus One team were fourth and Margaret congratulated both teams.

The speaker Matthew Lepp was introduced. Matthew makes soap and gave a long history of how and where it had been discovered. He spoke in an amusing manner, and obviously loved his subject, as well as being very knowledgeable about it. He showed how to make a shower wash, resulting in a lovely bottle of sweet smelling gel. Joyce Barber thanked him.

Beryl Williams and Rita Harrison served tea and biscuits.

The next meeting on Tuesday, November 11, will be the AGM, and members were asked for names of those they would like to be on the committee. The meeting starts at 7.30pm in Antrobus Village Hall and a hot pot supper will be available.
