THE Federation of Small Businesses is launching a new awards scheme to recognise individuals who have gone ‘above and beyond’ for the good of small firms and entrepreneurs.

The FSB, which has around 5,000 members in the Manchester and north Cheshire region, has introduced the scheme to show support and recognise those who work tirelessly for the good of the small business community.

Winners of the monthly award will be presented with a certificate and will feature on the FSB website, in member newsletters, and on social media.

“We’re seeking people, whatever their age, position or standing who’ve done something special on behalf of either a small business, or the wider SME community in general. A person who has gone above and beyond to make a difference for business, whatever the reason,” said FSB Regional chairman for Manchester and North Cheshire, Richard Gregg.

“It is small firms who will deliver the jobs and growth in local economies throughout the region, so we must do everything we can to create a fertile environment where they can thrive and prosper.

“An award scheme like this will hopefully encourage more people to get involved and give small businesses a welcome push.”

To nominate a person or organisation for an FSB Business Buddy Award, email details to: robert.downes@fsb.org.uk. The inaugural recipient will be announced on November 3.
