A NORTHWICH company has won its second top accolade of the year.

Pink Spaghetti has been named new franchisor of the year in the EWIF awards, for women in franchising.

Back in March they were awarded the business of the year title by a national female entrepreneur’s network.

Friends Caroline Gowing and Vicky Matthews, both 42, set up Pink Spaghetti in 2009 to provide personal assistant services to small businesses. In 2012 they franchised their company and are now operating in six UK territories. Clients are mainly micro-businesses and most are female run.

On selecting Pink Spaghetti for the title, Matthew Winfield, franchisee relationship manager from event sponsor McDonalds Restaurants said: “Pink Spaghetti’s flexibility, combining part time hours with an easily expandable model make it very attractive. This kind of flexibility is rare in the market place but this franchisor has made it work.

“Even in this tough economic climate the model has continued to grow and franchisees have shown their commitment and interest in buying additional territories.

“This franchisor showed clearly that they are growing at a sustainable rate, investing in their brand and gearing their business to ensure longevity of their business and that of their franchisees.”

Pink Spaghetti co-owner Vicky Matthews said: “Women make up a highly skilled and enthusiastic minority in the franchising community. It is estimated that around 25 percent of franchisors are female and we are over the moon to be recognised as one of the best”.

In March this year, Pink Spaghetti was named Network She’s business of the year on account of the support they offer to other women in business.

Vicky said: “The nature of women’s busy lives means we often end up helping out with domestic as well as business tasks. A typical list from a client might include booking business travel and accommodation, some market research and then sourcing a children’s party entertainer!”

Pink Spaghetti was named after Vicky and Caroline’s nine-year-old daughters’ mutual love of eating spaghetti and the colour pink.
