MIDDLEWICH MP Fiona Bruce’s parliamentary expenses for 2011/12 totalled £133,597.

This included £103,063 in payroll costs, £17,328 for the constituency office, £9,537 for travel and subsistence, £3,002 for accommodation, £115 for constituency rental and £550 admin costs.

Tatton MP George Osborne’s expenses were £111,688, Eddisbury MP Stephen O’Brien’s were £120,689, Crewe and Nantwich MP Edward Timpson’s were £136,237 and Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans’ were £161,546.

Mrs Bruce said: “I treat my commitment to the constituents I represent as a priority which means a large volume of correspondence and other connected expenses.

“However, having run a small business, I am always looking for the most economic way to keep my expenses down since after all this is taxpayers’ money.”

John L Bell says...

I am a full taxpaying (now that is an unknown concept for some politicians!) citizen voter who has been studying the fraudulent expenses/allowances 'fiddle money' claims of politicians since the Conway Scandal in 2008.

A number of articles in local and regional newspapers across the country, similar to this one, have been flagged up by my website in the last week or so!

Many claim that the expenses scandal is now over!!!

None of them mention that the amount of expenses/allowances 'fiddle money' claimed by MPs has increased by some 26% since 2010-11!

None of them mention the large increase in expenses/allowances 'fiddle money' for MPs agreed (VERY quietly!) just BEFORE the Budget which affected the rest of us! Thus the amounts claimed by MPs for the year 2012-13 could be 30-20% higher than that claimed in 2010-11

Only one (so far!) has mentioned that there are still MPs who have put relatives on the public payroll using no recognised application/selectio
n process - other than abuse of power!

I would be interested in hearing from anyone in these times of 'belt tightening', 'austerity' and 'all in this together' who has received a 30%+ increase since 2010-11!
