CHESHIRE East Council’s parks manager has told worried parents that a budget had been put together to improve Middlewich’s play areas.

George Broughton, parks development manager, said that funds had been put together made up of contributions from developers who have built houses in the area over the last few years.

In an email to a resident, he said: “Your concerns have been echoed by many others in your community.

“We have also had many expressing their willingness to support our work to drive forward the necessary improvements.

“Middlewich has a wonderful community spirit with many volunteers working on the ground to improve their environment and their open spaces.

“Their collective input is probably the most essential ingredient if we are to successfully make transformational improvements to the parks and play spaces of Middlewich.

“Without these efforts, it is unlikely that the improvements we can make will be sustainable.

“I do hope that you and your associates will engage with the whole process and we can all work together for the benefit of the children and people of Middlewich.”
