NANTWICH Road in Middlewich is currently closed after a HGV hit the canal bridge causing it to be 'unsafe' today, Wednesday.
The road is expected to be closed until Saturday, November 6 but this will be confirmed on Thursday, November 4 following further assessments.
British Waterways has carried out a full assessment and judged the structure unsafe for traffic and pedestrians.
The alternative route during the closure will be via Chester Road, Middlewich Road and Clive Green Lane.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents.
