YOUNGSTERS at Middlewich High School have been learning how to save lives as part of an initiative by the St John Ambulance team.
Students were given a grounding in how to manage an emergency incident.
They had the opportunity to practice first aid on baby manikins as part of a module in childcare.
Pupils who successfully complete the young first aider training receive a St John Ambulance first aid certificate which is valid for three years.
Lynda Cappes, assistant head teacher at Middlewich High School, said: “The Young first aider sessions have been very well presented and useful.
“The children have enjoyed each session and have commented on the fact they now feel very confident in dealing with any emergency situation.
“The interactive elements of the sessions were particularly effective as the children were able to practise what they learnt.”
