Decision on controversial homes deferred

AMBITIOUS plans to redevelop a Middlewich site for housing have been deferred by Cheshire East Council’s southern planning committee.
Russell Homes wants to demolish a house on the land off Jersey Way and transform the adjoining haulage yard to make it suitable for 93 homes.
But on Wednesday, June 24, councillors postponed their decision on the application so they can make a site visit.
The proposal was recommended for refusal at a recent planning meeting by Middlewich Town Council.
