THE new chief executive of Cheshire East Council has welcomed plans to build a children’s centre in Middlewich.
Erika Wenzel spoke out after plans to build a further eight centres across eastern Cheshire were approved funding by Cheshire County Council in December.
She said: “These centres do such great work with families across Cheshire and I’m delighted that more residents in both rural and urban areas of Cheshire East will benefit from a growing network in the years to come.”
Children’s Centres are part of the Government’s Sure Start initiative and aim to be a one-stop-shop for children and families offering childcare and health and family support services from one central base.
It has not yet been confirmed where the centre in Middlewich will be located.
