WINSFORD town council is continuing with its winning record after retaining its Quality Status.

The council applied to retain the award, which it first won in 2004, and can now boast of being a Quality Council for the next four years.

Town Mayor Des Worthington said: “To become a quality council we had to demonstrate that we are in touch with the community, run the council competently and are capable of taking on an enhanced role.

“I was never in any doubt that we would receive the award, but it’s nice to be recognised formally.”
