A MARKETING consultant who feared she might not have permission to run her business from the Middlewich building she leases has been granted planning consent.
Carrie-Ann Sudlow took out a five-year lease on a building in Wheelock Street, hired staff, and spent thousands on refurbishment before realising she may not have permission to use the building as an office.
Although her lease stated the property could be used for retail or office use, in February she discovered she may not have permission to use the former Cups and Cakes café as an office space.
In her application to Cheshire East Council which asked for a change of use from retail to offices, Carrie Ann explained the mix up and asked the council to allow her to continue operating out of the building.
She said: “I have been very naive and have done nothing but worry since I discovered that I might not be able to use the building of office use. I am unsure what I would do if the class cannot be changed.”
Planning officers have now approved the retrospective application.
