MIDDLEWICH runners supported SADS UK at the Simply Health Great Manchester Run in May.

The running team was brought together by SADS UK Representative Linda Boden and north west co-ordinator Angela Morris.

Linda has donated defibrillators to schools and organisations.

Linda Boden said: “We had a great day though a bit too hot for the runners, although all those running did brilliantly, and all want to run again next year, they are a great bunch and so supportive.

“Next year’s date is Sunday May, 19 and five more people have already told me they will run for SADS UK which is fantastic.”

Anne Jolly MBE, SADS UK, said: “We are very grateful to Angela and Linda who raise awareness in memory of their son’s Colin Hankin and Andrew Cliffe and also to everyone involved for their continued support in memory of their loved ones who passed away so young.”

SADS UK is a charity which funds research into sudden arrthymic death syndrome and provides cardiac equipment such as heart monitors, event recorders and defibrillators to help save lives.

A defibrillator is the only piece of equipment that will restore the heart rhythm.

If a person goes into cardiac arrest it is crucial that the person is administered a therapeutic shock delivered by the defibrillator as quickly as possible to give them the best chance of survival.

The Automated External Defibrillator is easy to use and gives voice prompts to the rescuer.
