A MIDDLEWICH man who was arrested on suspicion of setting fire to a boat moored at The Kings Lock, has now been released under investigation.
The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a large fire on the canal along Booth Lane in the early hours of the morning on May 18.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 3.20am and were there for around an hour and 10 minutes.
Police were at the scene and arrested a man in relation to the fire.
A police spokesman said: "The 31-year-old man from Middlewich who was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life has been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
