THE latest addition to the line-up of Middlewich FAB Festival is country singer-songwriter Josh Okeefe.

The musician, originally from Derby, moved to Nashville to make it in the music industry.

After a year of touring around the US he has announced a UK tour prior to his Middlewich performance.

Josh has gathered a reputation for tackling serious issues in his music, he likes to pen songs founded on substance.

The last year has seen Josh notably put in emotional performances at Grenfell Tower’s Wall of Truth, a public space collecting first hand accounts, facts and testimonies created for affected members of the community.

He also played in Tennessee for Black Lives which was reported by the Huffington Post, both of which have been hard-hitting new chapters in Josh’s own living songbook.

Josh has often been compared to legends of the genre such as Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie and similarly to them, he is an artist who prefers to let the songs do the talking and a character with a penchant for the unpredictable.

The UK tour promises to be an exciting one for Josh who will be performing tracks from his upcoming album including the moving ‘Grenfell Tower Fire’.

He has already performed with the likes of Alison Krauss and Jamey Johnson, earned headline festival spots and BBC Radio appearances, sang for the people at national and local protests and had his songs recorded by major label artists like Ashley Monroe and High Valley to name a few.

He performs at Middlewich FAB Festival on Saturday, June 16.
