THE final public consultation on plans for the Middlewich eastern bypass takes place today, Thursday.

Today’s event, from 2pm to 8pm at St Mary’s Church Hall in King Street, is the final of three such public exhibitions.

People will be able to ask questions and examine the current plans for the near-£60 million road, which will link the A54 Holmes Chapel Road with Booth Lane.

The consultation remains open until Sunday, April 29, and residents can let the council know their thoughts by then.

Visit cheshireeast.gov.uk for an online questionnaire, or email middlewicheasternbypass@cheshireeast.gov.uk

Alternatively, you can respond via the freepost address: FREEPOST RTUK – RBLY – XUBT, Middlewich Eastern Bypass, 5 First Street, Manchester, M15 4GU

Feedback will help inform the road’s final route ahead of a planning application, expected to be submitted this summer.

Should it be approved, work could start in summer 2020, with the road open to traffic by winter 2021.
