A MIDDLEWICH GP is Cheshire’s newest town councillor.
Dr Elizabeth Beswick, who works at Waters Edge, was elected to serve on Knutsford Town Council at a by-election last night.
The Conservative member defeated independent candidate Quentin Abel by 496 votes to 233, with a 35.6 per cent turn out.
Ollerton resident Dr Beswick becomes the 14th Conservative on Knutsford Town Council, replacing former independent member Charlotte Greenstein.
