A HARTFORD pupil secured £1,000 for her school by volunteering to play The Last Post at a remembrance service.

Leah Holland, in year 10 at Hartford High School, performed on Friday, November 10 at Compass Minerals in Winsford.

As a token of appreciation, the company donated money to the school’s chosen charity, Cancer Research UK.

A school spokesman said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Compass Minerals for their kind donation.

“This was linked to one of our staff, Mrs Murray and an employee of the company, Lynette Mitchell. They requested that someone played The Last Post at their service and our student Leah was happy to oblige.”
