FOUR youngsters walked from Rudheath to Middlewich to raise more than £460 for a good cause.
Five-year-old Jamie Hitchen and his sister Matilda, eight, were joined by Mia Glover, six, and Emily Smith, eight, for the five-mile walk from The Old Broken Cross to The Big Lock.
The St Mary’s Catholic Primary schoolchildren raised £466 for BBC Children in Need as part of the annual Countryfile ramble, with more money from sponsorship to be added to the total.
Kirsty Glover, Mia’s mum, told the Guardian: “We’re really proud of them.
“Our children are very lucky with the things they have, and we wanted to make sure they appreciate it as so many children don’t have that.
“Five miles is such a trek for them, but we had a picnic halfway and they loved doing it.”
