THE author of a new children's book based on the history of Knutsford will be signing copies at an interactive event this weekend.
Tim Claydon-Butler of Cranford Tails has teamed up with the Egerton Schools Foundation to publish 'A Tail of Two Schools' - an illustrated verse highlighting the link between Knutsford and Kenya.
The ESF celebrates and supports the rediscovered link between two schools built by the Egerton family of Tatton Park, one in Knutsford and the other in Njoro, Kenya.
Knutsford Heritage Centre will host the signing event from 11.30am on Saturday, October 21, with opportunities for children to try their hand at colouring and digital painting as well as meeting the author.
Tim said: “It’s an important project, not just for Egerton Primary but for all of the schools involved in Global Learning.
"Seeing the effect that history has on our understanding of, and attitude to, the world in needed – now more than ever.”
All proceeds from the book go to the ESF to continue the link between the two schools. The heritage centre will also be open to explore.
