BEAVERS from the 1st Knutsford Scouts joined the Friends of The Moor for the annual raising of the Green Flag award, which the park this year won for the ninth year running.

The Beavers, based at the Scout hut on The Moor, held the flag before it was raised.

The Green Flag award is the benchmark national standard for parks and green spaces in the UK.

With the Scouts flying and carrying a variety of flags, it was an interesting night of learning for the Beavers.

FOTM was represented at the ceremony by Debbie Jamison, Jan McCappin and Jacquie Grinham. All the Beavers were also present, along with leader Helen, young leaders Edward and Nicky, group Scout leader Rob Allen, Cub Toby, and Michele Hammond of 1st Knutsford Scouts and FOTM.

The 1st Knutsford Scouts, based at The Moor since 1911, have reached the halfway point in a fundraiser for a new headquarters to replace the current building.
