HIGHER education at Knutsford Academy is thriving thanks to a string of impressive exam results, with more students making the move up to sixth form.

The sixth form and studio has welcomed a new influx of students from the Academy and other schools off the back of a third consecutive year of 100 per cent pass rates, with 30 per cent of A Level grades at A or A*.

With the Studio also achieving 100 per cent pass rate in BTEC qualifications every year since its inception in 2014, the Academy now features as one of the top performing sixth forms in England.

James Whittaker, head of The College and Studio School, said: “We are immensely proud of our students’ achievements and it is fantastic to see so many now progress onto the next stage be it at university or entering the working world.

“We were delighted to welcome so many of our students back into the Sixth Form, but what is also especially pleasing is how many students chose to join us from other schools.

“We have a focus on providing personalised support within a close knit community which really appeals to our students and their parents.”

The school also sent off a number of impressive alumni this summer, with Alex Price (four A*s) studying civil engineering at the University of Bath, Kate Haselden (A*, A*, A) heading to Mansfield College University of Oxford, and James Philpott (A*, A, A) studying biological sciences at Imperial College London.
