A SELF-STORAGE company is asking Middlewich residents to donate ‘back to school’ items.

Spaces and Places, based in Brooks Lane, is holding a donation station in an effort to help as many families as possible before schools start opening again on September 4.

Owner Tim Churchill and partner Rachel Whitby have supported charities across the UK and are appealing to Middlewich residents for items such as stationary, school and lunch bags, pumps and shirts.

Rachel, 48, said: “As a single parent in the 1990s I can recall how much I dreaded these periods with the ever-present fear of not being able to buy all that my kids needed.

“I remember being in that place and dreading every year when school came back around.

“It should be an exciting and rewarding time but for many families it is simply a period of increased stressed, added pressures and greater financial worry.

“If anyone had offered to help me out back then I know how much it would have meant to me and my children.

“We want people to get in touch. We also had a business in Winsford that did very well for collections but as we’ve only just moved into Middlewich we don’t know the community yet.

“It seems like a fantastic and welcoming place and we’re asking anybody to donate items that they feel they can give away.

“They don’t need to be expensive and it would go a long way to making sure a child doesn’t feel left out when they return to school.

“They want to feel the same as their friends. So any donations would be much appreciated.”
