HEALTH chiefs are calling for health and wellbeing groups in mid Cheshire, Crewe and Nantwich to take part in an annual public event.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT), which manages Leighton Hospital, Victoria Infirmary and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre, will be holding its annual members’ meeting on Wednesday, October 4.

The event will take place at Winsford Lifestyle Centre and aims to provide the public with an update on the progress of the trust, as well as upcoming challenges and opportunities it is likely to face in the coming 12 months.

This year, for the first time, the day will start with an interactive health and wellbeing fair featuring a number of health-related charities, organisations and stalls.

Dennis Dunn, chairman of MCHFT, said: “We are interested in hearing from any local health and wellbeing-related groups who would be interested in taking part in the fair so that, together, we can offer our population a comprehensive insight into the help, advice and support that is available in the area.

“We would also like to encourage individuals and families to attend the free event – as well as being an opportunity to receive health and wellbeing information, it promises to be a fun and informative morning.”

Those already confirmed to attend include Active Cheshire, One You Cheshire East, Body Positive, Health Watch Cheshire and You in Mind, a new online resource to help find mental health support services.

A number of divisions and departments from Leighton Hospital will also be holding displays.

The health and wellbeing fair will run from 10.30am to noon and will be followed by MCHFT’s annual members’ meeting, which will include refreshments.
