THE Children’s Farm Adventure Trust is seeking brave souls to brave their soles by taking part in the annual firewalk event later this year.

The children’s charity, which provides holidays and activities for terminally ill, chronically sick, disabled and disadvantaged north west children, hopes the September event will be bigger and better than ever.

Plucky participants will undergo a two-hour training session with firewalking professionals Blaze before rolling up their trousers for a barefoot walk over 20 feet of glowing, red-hot embers.

Events organiser Pippa Watton said: “This is such a fantastic event, and something I have personally done on two occasions.

“The sense of achievement you feel as you step off those coals is fabulous – you really do feel like you can take on the world.

“Blaze are a brilliant company who we’ve worked with on all of our firewalk events, their training is second to none and they ensure everyone has a safe and fun experience.

“We really hope to get more walkers than ever before this year, and look forward to welcoming them and their guests for a bar and BBQ from 6pm.

“All monies raised on the night will help us to change the lives of terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from our region.”

Participants will need to pay a £10 entry fee and raise a minimum of £100 for the charity to take part.

Family and friends are invited to watch them braving the coals, and food, drink and live entertainment will be provided throughout the evening.

This year’s walk, the ninth so far, takes place on Friday, September 29.
