POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a deliberate vehicle fire in High Legh to come forward.

Officers are currently investigating the incident, in which a vehicle was set alight at The Avenue's junction with West Hall Court in the early hours of last Friday.

Between 12.25am and 12.45am on Friday, June 30, a man approached the junction with a brick or stone and threw it through the rear window of the vehicle.

PC Nic Dobson, of Macclesfield local policing unit, said: “I want to appeal to not only anyone who may have seen a man acting suspiciously but who may have noticed burn injuries to the man’s arms and upper body.”

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 38 of June 30.

Information can also be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
