TATTON Brewery is getting set to raise a glass to its seventh birthday, with the return of the annual three-day brewery beer festival just weeks away.

The Longridge-based brewery, which recently secured a deal to supply to 80 Co-op stores, will be serving its wide range of popular ales – as well as some surprises and experimental brews – from Thursday, June 8 to Saturday, June 10.

Simon Walkington, Tatton Brewery sales and marketing manager, said: “As someone who gets to sell Tatton beers I’ve surely got one of the easiest jobs in the world.

“The team here are consistently brewing the tastiest beer. The specials and surprise brews for the festival are really quite stunning.

“With the entertainment lined up over the three days, the atmosphere promises to be great.”

As well as the chance to try the beers on offer, owner and head brewer Gregg Sawyer will be hosting educational tours of the brewery on Thursday evening.

The tours, lasting around an hour, explain how beer is made from transforming the raw ingredients of grain. hops, water and Tatton yeast to produce into the finished product.

The tour finishes with beer tasting to those aged 18 or over.

On Friday, Bavarian beer band Brasswurst return to the festival for a live performance, with Kat Curlett from the group saying they are looking forward to playing for the second year on the spin.

She said: “We are very excited to be coming back to sample some of Tatton’s finest ales.

“Last year’s festival was a great success and we are delighted to be performing again.

“So bring your lederhosen and get ready for some Oom-Pah classics guaranteed to get you singing and dancing.”

Tickets for Thursday and Friday evenings are £6 – a price that includes three pints when purchased online in advance, or two pints when purchased on the door.

Saturday tickets are £2 for admission only, and you can also reuse your ticket from Thursday or Friday for admission on the Saturday afternoon.

The family-run brewery offers four regular beers, Tatton Ale, Blonde, Best and Gold, as well as a number of seasonal brews.
