ST Luke’s Hospice is urging schools, businesses and individuals to get behind its Go Yellow Friday fundraising campaign next month.

Go Yellow Friday will take place on Friday, June 23, and aims to encourage people to literally ‘go yellow’ for the day, either by wearing, eating or baking yellow to fundraise and promote awareness of St Luke’s Hospice.

Everyone taking part can raise money by making a donation which will go directly to supporting patient care. St Luke’s is based in Winsford and cares for people living around Cheshire who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

The colour yellow has long been associated with the hospice movement and symbolises warmth, energy and kindness which is epitomised through the care and support St Luke’s show families all year round.

Angela Slack, community partnerships manager, said: “We’re really excited about Go Yellow Friday. From wearing yellow socks to work, to hosting a yellow themed coffee morning, there are so many fun ways to involved and we cannot wait to see how people will be showing their support to St Luke’s on Go Yellow Friday.”

Supporters are being encouraged to share their Go Yellow fundraising on social media using #GoYellowFriday.

The Hospice receives limited funding from the Government, and needs to raise £8,600 each day to provide free care and support to local people.
