AN investigation has been launched after a possible arson attack on three sheds in Middlewich late last night.

Firefighters from Middlewich and Holmes Chapel came together to tackle the blaze in White Horse Alley off Lewin Street. They were called at 12.35am.

The fire involved a shed and had spread to two nearby sheds.

Crews used a hose reel to get the fire under control. Two cylinders were also involved and were cooled with water.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said: “It is possible that this fire may have been started deliberately, so police attended and a fire investigation into the cause will take place.

“If anyone knows anything about how this fire may have started, then they need to call Cheshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

This comes after a fire in an outbuilding in Newton Heath at 11.50am yesterday.
