TWO Middlewich residents have been recognised for their valuable work to the community.
Cllr Ken Kingston and Margaret Scarlett received the High Sheriff of Cheshire’s award in Chester on March 29.
The award was presented by Kathy Powell OBE, the former High Sherriff of Cheshire.
Margaret was cited for her numerous voluntary roles that included county poppy appeal coordinator, branch treasurer of Middlewich Royal British Legion and Middlewich Heritage Society treasurer.
Cllr Kingston’s citation included his roles as poppy appeal honorary organiser, branch chairman of Middlewich Royal British Legion, chairman of Middlewich Cemetery Board and town councillor.
The award states: “This recognises contribution in enhancing the life of the community.”
