A MIDDLEWICH school has hosted an educational bus teaching young women about periods in an engaging way.
The ‘betty bus’ visited Middlewich High School, and students experienced a range of interactive activities aimed to make the subject more open.
During the visit, pupils took part in one-hour sessions with trained facilitators helping explore how periods affect them physically and emotionally.
Boys were offered the opportunity to take part in separate session puberty, focusing on their attitude towards this natural time of month.
Charlotte Parkins, head of citizenship at Middlewich High School, said: “The visit from the betty bus has been really beneficial for our students.
“They had the chance to ask all the questions that they might otherwise not have asked, and it has helped them feel relaxed, engaged and open.
“It has also helped our teachers feel empowered to talk more openly about this topic and I think we’re now in a much better position to break down the stigma surrounding periods for our students.
