CHESHIRE East councillors are highlighting the dangers of high blood pressure by having health checks.
The checks were taken as part of the Stroke Association’s ‘know your blood pressure’ day on Saturday, April 22, a campaigned aimed at raising awareness of regular testing.
High blood pressure affects one in four adults in the UK and 40,000 people across east Cheshire may unknowingly have high blood pressure.
Cllr Paul Bates, cabinet member for communities and health, said: “Ultimately, carrying our regular checks can save lives.
“Getting your blood pressure checked may not be at the top of everyone’s priority list but it is hugely important.”
