THE decision date for Middlewich marina has been pushed back for a fifth time.

Submitted at the end of September, the application by 2 Cities Planning Consultancy to build 137 homes, retail developments and construction of a new marina was initially due to be discussed by Cheshire East Council’s Southern Planning Committee on November 23.

The committee is now due to meet on April 26, with a decision to be made two days later, this is the application's latest pushback, with the first one in December.

A Cheshire East Council spokesman said the latest postponement was made ‘because various papers and reports are still awaited.’

The previous reason for missed target dates had been due to an overwhelming response from the community and several requests for additional information being made on the application website.

The first stage of the outline proposal could see up to 400 homes built on Brooks Lane as part of the emerging Local Plan.

The 12-berth marina would also grow if future development was to go ahead.
