MIDDLEWICH High School welcomed a group of Chinese visitors to their school for three days last week, giving them an insight into life in British education.

Twenty-one visiting students from Changchun were welcomed at the King Edward Street school, learning about life in a UK school as part of a wider cultural visit with South Cheshire College.

Middlewich High School students acted as ‘buddies’ for three days, and families in the town also hosted the Chinese students during their stay.

The school hailed the visit as ‘hugely successful’ and said that it had been enjoyed by all.

Changchun is the capital of China’s Jilin province, and lies just over 600 miles north east of the capital Beijing.

The wider cultural visit also saw the students from Changchun spend time in London, Cambridge and Chester, as well as visiting the National Football Museum in Manchester.

The Middlewich school has enjoyed a busy start to 2017, including setting up a ‘Pledge’ to improve links between businesses and students.
