ONE hundred motorists were caught speeding in St Michael's Way this morning.

As reported by the Guardian earlier today, Cheshire Police led a multi-agency traffic operation morning as part of Operation Roadside, focusing on speeding and parking issues.

In total, 112 speeding offences were captured via a 'TruCam' device - 100 of which were in 30mph-limit road St Michael's Way.

Four tickets were issued for mobile phone offences, while two arrests were made for driving while disqualified and a police obstruction offence relating to an automatic numberplate recognition (ANPR) device.

On top of these offences, lots of verbal warnings were given for parking.

Middlewich PCSO Paul Hewitt said: "I would just like to say how very concerning this is for the town.

"I will be speaking with the council and will address these problems to see how we can tackle this high level of speeding together.

"We will be monitoring the area very closely. Speeding will not be tolerated."
