POLICE are appealing for information after two schoolgirls were hit by a car in Leadsmithy Street.

Two 12-year-old girls were injured in a collision with a black Renault Clio after it ran through the Town Bridge junction traffic lights near St Michael and All Angels church.

The pair suffered minor injuries in the collision, which occurred at around 5.25pm last Friday, February 3.

Sgt Andy Mannering said: “It is believed that there may have been two older people who witnessed the collision.

“We would like to speak to them to establish what took place. If you were there at the time and witnessed the collision but have yet to speak to police I’d urge you to please contact me on 101 quoting incident number 704 of 3 February 2017.

“Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
