A SPROSTON company is offering primary schools across east Cheshire the chance to win a brand new playground reading area as part of a borough-wide competition.
The Playground Company, based at Manor Farm in Holmes Chapel Road, is marking the 20th anniversary of World Book Day on March 2 by giving away a complete story telling area.
Children who attend primary schools in Cheshire East Council are invited to submit a picture of their favourite book cover or character from a book before February 20.
A winner will be selected from the entries received, with the winning child’s school receiving the playground upgrade. The design will also be featured on the Playground Company’s website.
A Playground Company spokesman said: “We hope you can all take part in this competition to celebrate 20 years of World Book Day and possibly win a fantastic story telling area for your school to enjoy for years to come. Good luck!”
The story telling area is described as being ‘dedicated to quiet learning and play and a great escape out of the classroom’.
It aims to help children adapt to new learning environments as well as creating an escape from the busy playground.
The set includes a story telling chair and four rubber top mushroom seats.
Entries should be sent to PGCO, Barn Office 2, Manor Farm, Holmes Chapel Road, Sproston, CW4 7LP.
