MIDDLEWICH Library will launch a new Lego club for children next month, following a host of generous donations by the community.
The library staff appealed for spare Lego sets and parts last year, with the hopes of mirroring similar clubs set up by other Cheshire East Council libraries.
Following a number of donations, the club will start up on February 4, running free of charge on the first Saturday of each month.
Emma Bakewell, senior library assistant at Middlewich, said: “We have had a really good response from the community in Middlewich. We have collected and cleaned all the donated Lego and sorted it all out.
“People can put their names down to sign up, and we will be contacting them. There will be a theme each month so that the children can come in and build something different.
“It’s something other libraries have done successfully and we thought it would be a good thing to do here.
“We have enjoyed a really good response so far and already have children signed up to take part.”
